Step back in time and discover life in old Louisiana at The Walker Museum. The museum is home to a vast collection of artifacts documenting the town of Walker's rich history, including items from the old general merchandise store, the original blades from the saw mill, the sales window and postal boxes from the first post office, old farm equipment, tools and more. Browse hundreds of photographs documenting life in South Louisiana, and hear Walker's oldest families share animated stories of how the town came to be. And don't miss our Community Art Gallery, with its monthly exhibits featuring the works of some of Livingston Parish's most gifted artists.

Summer Art Mini-Camps

We've added a series of Mini-Camps in July to our Summer Art Camps for Kids lineup. Children can learn how to make a puppet or draw and paint a picture, or they can celebrate Christmas in July while they create original tree ornaments. These one- or two-day camps are for children ages 6-10 and are quite affordable, at $15 per lesson. For a schedule and information on registration, click here.
