While raising her family, Mrs. Irys Allgood earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from LSU in 1989 and her law degree from the LSU Law Center in 1998. For 17 years prior to coming to Walker, she served Louisiana citizens in the following capacities: East Baton Rouge Parish public school teacher, special assistant parish attorney for East Baton Rouge Parish/City of Baton Rouge, attorney for the Louisiana Division of Administration, and Louisiana Assistant Attorney General. “I came to Walker to serve the legal needs of this growing city," Mrs. Allgood says. "Local government is where I eagerly seek to serve for the remainder of my career. Thank you for the privilege.”
