NOW HIRING FULL TIME DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS
 
 
The Director of Public Works oversees the road and bridges division, the emergency preparedness division, the roadside drainage division, the MS4 division, the street sign division, the facility maintenance division, the special events/projects division, and the street lighting division, consisting of approximately 15 employees.
 
The Director’s duties include, providing policy development and management guidance in all areas of the Public Works Department, evaluating department operations and reports to the Chief of Operations on a regular basis; prepares reports on departmental operations and evaluates performance against established objectives, prepares special reports on operating problems or plans as required; manages daily operations; approves expenditures; receives and responds to complaints regarding departmental operations; directs administrative and field staff; handles personnel matters; and carries out all duties as assigned by the Mayor.
 
Minimum qualifications:
(1) Ten (10) years experience in Public Works or related field.
(2) Three (3) years experience in supervision.
(3) valid Louisiana driver’s license.
 
Preferred Requirements:
 
(1)  Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
(2)  Fifteen (15) years of Public Works experience.
(3)  Five (5) years’ experience in supervision of local government operations.
 
FULL TIME POSITION WITH BENEFITS; MONDAY – THURSDAY 6:30 – 5:00; SALARY BASED ON EXPERIENCE
